Emilia LeBlanc, 73, passed away peacefully at The Moncton
Hospital on April 15, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born
to the late Henry "Harry" and Helen (Belliveau) Booth in
Moncton, N-B.
Emilia spent the first 19 years of her life on King Street in
Moncton, where her family had an apartment and her grandfather ran his
jewelry and clock-making business for many years. As a single parent
with two young children, Emilia dedicated her life to being a mother.
She was determined to provide all that she could for her family. She
took a hairdressing course and worked in this field before pursuing
the restaurant business, which allowed her to provide for her family.
Once her children were grown, she found her true calling as a
nurse’s aid at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, where she
retired in 2017. Emilia always worried and took care of others before
herself. Due to her caring and hard-working nature, it was natural for
her to make a difference at the hospital. Here, she ensured that
patients received the care they deserved with a warm, friendly smile
each day.
She loved family suppers, spending time together with family
and friends during the holidays, her time in Halifax with her close
friends, and Sunday morning coffee "Pepsi" with her sisters,
brother, and close family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother,
cherishing every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and
her beloved grand puppies, Molly and Chester. Her love for her family
was boundless and unwavering.
She is survived by her children: Marc (Lynn Boucher) and
Josette Despres (Guy Despres); three grandchildren: Jeneca, Ryan, and
Talia; two sisters: Louise Booth and Colleen Dupuis (late Louis); one
brother: Johnny "John" Booth; two grand puppies, as well as
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Joseph, at a young
age.
A celebration of her life will be held at Frenette Funeral
and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on
Sunday April 20 from 2 pm to 4 pm. Emilia’s final resting
place will be at Frenette Columbarium in Moncton. In memory of Emilia,
a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (oncology), the
Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be
appreciated.
